End of Winter Bounty.

It's the end of Winter here on Shantron Farm but there is still some bounty:

😊 Mandarins.

Feeding Time on Shantron Farm in Winter

It's a sunny Winter day and it's feeding time on Shantron Farm. Bruce and Carmen walk across the paddock for their food. The chooks cackle as they mill around for their mixed grain and the cats gather on the verandah for breakfast. Kayla supervises all of the feeding. She gets her own food but is happy to eat anything. I'll have what they're having.

Cast:

Mataranka, Capital of the Never Never

Mataranka, NT is the location of the Jeannie Gunn novel (1902) and movie (1982), "We of the Never Never". Visit the Elsey Cemetery and the recreated Elsey Homestead to see how tough life was when the Territory was being colonised.

Today you can see the barra being fed, marvel at the glorious pink water lilies, float downstream at Bitter Springs in the beautifully coloured water, see termite mounds in all different shapes and sizes and see lots of flowering turkey bush alongside the highway in the dry.

UMBRAWARRA GORGE.

Suzanne Lennox, EzineArticles.com Basic Author

Umbrawarra Gorge is a hidden gem in the Top End of the Northern Territory.  It has pink rocks alongside other delicious colours in the rock formations of the gorge. A creek meanders through the gorge for most of the dry season so there is an opportunity for a refreshing dip. A great place to visit for a short detour on the trip from Darwin to Katherine or a place to camp and explore the wonders of this magical place in more detail.

COOGEE BEACH IN WINTER.

Forget the infamous Bondi Beach.  It has a surf (sometimes dangerous) but the hordes of people tend to diminish the experience.  If you want surf, go to Maroubra Beach but if you just want a swim, try Coogee.  It's just a short bus ride from the city.
